I remember Flipside burgers as one of the first burger specific eateries to open up around the Fremantle area. It was exciting because it became a place to eat an evening burger that wasn’t in a pub or a semi formal restaurant. Not that there is anything wrong with either but sometimes a girl simply …Read more »
Located on the City Beach foreshore, Odyssea beach café is a scenic spot for an espresso. Monday mid-morning, the unexpected small queue isn’t an issue as there’s a two seat bar table on the alfresco decking area available, and with only the two of us we’re in luck today!
On the way to the table we notice …Read more »
I feel a good majority of my posts on this blog mention the words– ‘today was a beautiful sunny warm day of clear blue skies.’ Anyone not living in Perth might find this difficult to believe. Aside from my fascination with the weather, Perth truly is the sunny state and today was much the same, …Read more »
Catching up with a friend Wednesday night, we dined at Varsity Bar, an all American sports bar a few kilometres out of Perth’s CBD. It’s located in a dated small shopping centre along Broadway Ave in Nedlands. It’s not visible from the street and if you’ve never been before, let me direct you to walk …Read more »
C Blu restaurant, part of Ocean Beach Hotel (or as most know it ‘the OBH’) runs a $10.00 breakfast special all day long, and located across the road from the beach is superb for extending a morning in Perth’s beach neighbourhood of Cottesloe.

Given the blissful weather last Saturday morning, we thought it to be a good enough reason to travel towards the west coast for breakfast. When we arrived at Swanbourne Beach the car park was all but full, and as we walked towards The Shorehouse, it was pretty clear this newish restaurant was drawing in a …Read more »
Early Sunday morning on our cycling travels, we decided to stop for breakfast at Il Lido. I’m not sure if it’s because we are out and about cycling more these days, however, I’m noticing a decent bicycle culture in Perth – both road and off-road. Weekend mornings are especially good around the Freo area and along the …Read more »
The scenery at CORE Cider House is really sensational and it hits you the moment you pull up in the car park. The cidery and restaurant is set on a slope in the Perth hills with picturesque views across its orchard and Australian forest in the background. I have to say half way though …Read more »
Rising somewhat at an early hour, well for a Sunday morning that is, we made our way to Propeller in North Fremantle for breakfast and a much wanted coffee. Propeller opens from 7.00am which is great as most places tend to open later on the weekends. It was also nice to get in before the …Read more »
Well, winter officially arrived into Perth last weekend and thus begins the season for coffee, tea, hot chocolate or whatever hot drink warms your belly! It’s also the season of stews, goulash, minestrone soup and beef bourguignon. My favourite season and let’s also not forget about the warm apple crumble!
Wanting to enjoy the winter sun, we …Read more »
